MAPLE SYRUP
STAMPEDE
The Maple Syrup Stampede is a x-country skiing event held the third Saturday of February. There is a 7.5km classic and a 25km skate race. There were 55 participants in the 2002 event -- 34 in the 25km skate race and 18 in the 7.5km classic race. After the race everyone enjoys a delicious pasta dinner prepared and served by volunteers. The prizes - maple theme of course - are fabulous. The sponsors for this event are very giving. We greatly appreciate this generosity. Mark February 15, 2003 on your calendar for the next loppet.
MOUNTAIN MAPLE RUN/WALK The Mountain Maple Run/Walk takes place on the Sunday following the Victoria Day weekend. It is 5km/10km run and a 5km walk. Participants get a certificate and a t-shirt. The top 3 males and top 3 females in each of the 5km and 10km runs receive a
prize. This event takes place on the x-country ski trails at the Mountainview Centennial Grounds. The terrain is rugged and hilly through beautiful mature maples and evergreens.
IRISH STEW
SUPPER
The Irish Stew Supper is held the Saturday closest to St. Patrick's Day. This supper is held at the Jocelyn Community Hall (home of the Voyageurs Snowmobile Club). The menu includes Irish stew, salad, homemade biscuits, dessert, coffee, tea and punch. All prepared by wonderful volunteers. It is an excellent opportunity to socialize with your neighbours near and far.
CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS Canada Day Celebrations are held every July 1 at the Jocelyn Park. Jocelyn Recreation celebrates Canada’s birthday with a potluck dinner and fireworks at Jocelyn Park. The dinner is potluck - bring an entree or a dessert, a lawn chair, your appetite and then feast
on delicious food. Afterwards there are games and prizes for the children, face painting and a terrific fireworks display put on by volunteers. The Jocelyn Fire Department has always been generous with their time and expertise with the fireworks.
HARVEST
FESTIVAL

and antique vehicles, a farm animal petting zoo, hay rides on a horse drawn wagon and a tractor drawn wagon, cider press demo, live entertainment, crafters, a children's fall fair and much more... You must experience this unique gathering of family and friends.

CHILDREN'S
CHRISTMAS
PROGRAM
The Children's Christmas Program is held in December for the enjoyment of the children. Santa always makes an appearance and sends a small gift home with each child. There is a Christmas program directed by volunteers and carol singing. The hall is decorated with a beautiful tree that has been donated.
